The Communications / 911 Center handles emergency calls and dispatches for the county, except for the City of Greenville (937)548-1103. The Center operates 24 hours a day / 365 days a year.
The Darke County 9-1-1 Communications Center serves a population of approximately 53,300 people. Geographically, we are the ninth largest county in Ohio with 606 square miles and 1,292 miles of roadways. We are the primary communications center for the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, five village police departments, nine EMS services, and seventeen fire departments. Our dispatch center also provides communications for the game warden from the Department of Natural Resources, Animal Control Officer, Darke County Coroner, Shelter From Violence, Crime Stoppers, and Safe School Hotline.
The Darke County 9-1-1 Communications Center is staffed with one full-time administrator, nine full-time dispatchers, and three part-time dispatchers.
